I want to be able to offer you a Modern, Positive and Empowering approach to End of Life Planning.
Would you be interested in logging the plans of your own funeral and documenting your life story while you are still alive? Feeling empowered by taking control of this now and relieving the burden on your loved ones when the time comes. All the while, gaining a newfound appreciation of the life you have lived so far, and the wonderful people you shared it with along the way.

I'd like to be able to help you plan and document your funeral arrangements and also capture and record your entire life story, having it ready to turn into the most meaningful Eulogy to be read at your funeral and saved as a keepsake for generations to come.

We don’t really want to think about our deaths for obvious reason, how do we know when you should be thinking about it though? Sadly it is the only sure thing in life, so why don’t we give it a lot more thought than we do? I think we can plan the end of our lives whilst positively impacting our lives now.
There are so many reasons why making plans for the end of our lives is really important. Some reasons will be really personal, but sometimes they may be due to the circumstances we find ourselves in.

Reasons to plan your end of life wishes
Support your loved ones in arranging your funeral. Help them know where to start. Take away any guilt they may feel in not knowing your wishes. Avoid difficult decision making for them at the worst time of their lives and avoid any family disagreements about what should happen to you after your death.
Capture memories before they fade in your mind or the minds of your loved ones. Support elderly loved ones by having everything ready for them. Document these memories for future generations to read throughout time and see what made you the person you were.

Ensure your wishes are met and your unique story is told at your funeral in order to really celebrate your life in the way you want.

Ensure the right people are involved - your favourite ones! Nobody knows you like they do, they can join us when we meet and help us capture your life story and revive memories throughout your lives together.

Making plans for the end of your life and going through all of the memories of your life with my help, will also allow you to re-evaluate your life and the people in it and hopefully provide you with a great appreciation for your life and who you have shared it with. It may also prompt a bucket list effect, more adventures to plan, people to thank, people to reconnect with, a realisation of what no longer serves you or what you would love more of.
The Elements involved in End-of Life planning

Our end-of-life planning will focus on five different elements, each element offered will be priced individually. Not everyone is looking for the same thing, so just choose the elements you need.

We’ll firstly meet for a coffee or have a phone conversation to get to know a bit about one another and so that I can understand what you need.

We will then meet to discuss any of the following:

Your wishes for your funeral arrangements. I’ll make you a documented plan of your wishes to keep, ready for your family to hand to the Funeral Directors when the time comes. This will cover the type of funeral you want, burial, cremation, direct cremation and where you want it held. Details around the type of coffin (more specific details may need to be given to the funeral directors), coffin bearers, flowers, poems, readings (and who they are read by), music, funeral vehicles, clothing, jewellery, celebrant or officiant, your wishes for your ashes and more. If your wish is for a direct cremation, I’ll ask if you wish for family members to be present as you are taken to the crematorium. And as above, I’ll ask you about your wishes for a memorial if this is something you would like to happen.

If you would like to tell me your life story, I’ll capture your personality, your amazing story, the precious people in your life, the adventures, the challenges, your feelings, everything that makes you, ‘YOU’ and why your life is so important to the people around you. This will be a really comprehensive journey all the way through your life. Being able to speak to you in person and get to know you will really allow your personality to shine through as I document your life. Bring your favourite people along to share how they have enriched your journey and make memories as we do this.
I’ll document this information for you to keep safe when needed for your story to be written as your Eulogy by whoever you choose.

If you want to be really organised, I can write your Eulogy for you. Your Eulogy will be all the richer and meaningful as I’ll have met you in person and had many discussions with you and captured your wonderful personality which will be shining brightly throughout, making your funeral a really positive and fulfilling experience for your loved ones.
You will be able to review what I have written and make any changes you need, and it can be added to at any time over the years as further significant events occur.
Again, this will belong to you and can be read at your funeral by whoever you choose when the time comes.

If you decide you want me to be your celebrant at your funeral or memorial, I will gladly do this for you. To me it would be my honour and would be very meaningful, given that I was privileged not only with your story, but also having met you and bonded with you in life.

I have been a nurse for 28 years and a celebrant for a year and a half. I believe the experiences and challenges that arise in both of these roles puts me in an excellent position to help you navigate your way through the experience of planning the end of your life with great compassion, respect, dignity with a good few dollops of humour along the way. Throughout this process we will really get to know each other, hopefully resulting in you feeling you have shared your life story with a friend.
